The mission of the Plainville PTO is to create a successful, impactful, and healthy connection between the students' experiences in school, in the community, and in the home.  We provide educational programs, activities, and other ways to enrich each student so they can grow. 

While both are similar in their goals to support students, teachers, and schools there is a difference. A PTA belongs to a national network with membership dues and guidelines, while a PTO is an independent local organization.
We are a PTO which operates only within our school district and allows all of the funds we raise to remain with our schools.

Yes, the Plainville PTO is a 501-C3 organization. Our Tax ID  number is 01-0620597.

The PTO takes pride in supporting the Jackson and Wood Schools with enrichment programs that benefit all students.  We fund field trips for all grades 1-6 and a program for the PreK / Preschool students.  Examples of other programs or activities we have supported include:

• Enrichment programs
• School wide assemblies
• 6th Grade Graduation events, activities and celebrations
• Teacher Appreciation Week 
• Literacy Month
• Donations to foundations and local causes

No! While we welcome and encourage attendance at our monthly meetings we recognize that schedules can be very busy.  Please email us if you are interested in helping with events, activities, or learning more!

By supporting our events, fundraisers and spreading the word!  We welcome volunteers at our events, even if you cannot attend a meeting.  For more information, see Get Involved!
